A pioneer in participation in the national textile fair, which will return to Alfândega do Porto on the 23rd and 24th of this month, Tectex/Foot by Foot recognizes the “very important” role of MODTISSIMO in the validation of technical textiles. “MODISSIMO is a very important event. It was there that we often validated proposals and realized the receptiveness of the industry”, explains António Pereira, administrator of Tectex/Foot by Foot.
“In Portugal we have great quality, so what is well accepted here is also well received in international markets”, he said. As in previous editions of MODTISSIMO, Tectex/Foot by Foot expects above all “Peninsular customers”, remembering that the Portuguese event is the major platform for the sector in the Iberian Peninsula. “There is no doubt that it is a very, very important fair and a launching pad for other markets”, says António Pereira.
Specialized in the manufacture of functional textile structures for various industries, Tectex/Foot by Foot was one of the first Portuguese companies to validate products at CITEVE in the context of the pandemic. “On March 10 we were already very focused on this new paradigm. We integrally manufacture personal hospital protection equipment, from aprons to foot covers, to the protection of hospital mattresses”, reveals António Pereira.
In addition to the hospital industry, which currently occupies a good share of Tectex/Foot by Foot work, the company develops textile structures for other sectors such as the automobile or home & decoration. In 2021, the company has already booked its presence at the international fairs for home textiles HeimTextil, and technical textiles TechTextil, both taking place in Frankfurt in January and May, respectively.
